After a brief history and introduction to the layout of the ship, readers can choose to be a first class passenger, a third class passenger, or a crewmember. Each choice has its consequences and not all choices lead to a watery grave. The story concludes with an explanation of what really happened when Titanic struck an iceberg and eventually sunk and the aftermath. A timeline of events is included as well as a glossary of terms, a bibliography and suggestions for further reading and notable Internet websites. This book is a very accessible introduction to a sad moment in history and would be suitable for third grade and up.
